FORMATION - Number 11 is a 1 and a 1 0 - 11 This means you have 10 and 1 more

Use your whiteboard to practise writing the NUMBERS 1 - 11 on your whiteboard - don't forget to start at the top!!!
Use your finger to write NUMBERS 1 - 11 on your mummy's back. Don't tell - can mummy/daddy guess the number?
Use your finger to write the NUMBERS 1 - 11 in the air.
Can you make a set of '11' things? - Try to use different things daily if you can (socks, spoons, plastic cups etc...)
REMEMBER - If you are making a set of a number 1 - 6, set it out like a 'dice' number (how it looks on a dice)
TOUCH COUNT - Count each thing in your set by TOUCHING and COUNTING to find the TOTAL
TOUCH, MOVE COUNT - Count each thing by MOVING and COUNTING to find the TOTAL
SUBITISE COUNT - This means to LOOK at the set and KNOW how many by just LOOKING (this is why we set things out l like a DICE NUMBER - easy to recognise)
This term we will be learning about ADDITION.
We know our numbers 0 - 10, number BEFORE / AFTER / BETWEEN
Now it's time for 1 MORE.
PRACTICAL ACTIVITY FOR THE WEEK
Make a set of 7. ADD in 1 MORE. How many now?? Say - 7 and 1 more makes 8.
Repeat for all the numbers 0 - 10
ADDITION BOOK -
Cut the strip of cargo trailers off the bottom of 1st sheet. Colour.
Count how many behind 1st engine. Stick 1 MORE behind each train engine. How many now??
Repeat for each engine. Be sure to count HOW MANY at the start and HOW MANY after you stick on 1 MORE. Write the TOTAL on the Train Engine.
Go to Page 9.
Draw 1 MORE glass on each shelf and write the TOTAL. Draw juice in the glasses - if you want to.
WRITTEN ACTIVITIES in TSD BOOK
MONDAY --> My Number Book - Colour 4 in each set of instruments.
TUESDAY --> TSD BOOK - Draw 8 apples on the tree. Colour 2 red, 2 yellow and 2 brown. Write 8.
Wednesday --> My Number Book - Colour the sets of 4. Write number 4.
THURSDAY --> TSD BOOK - Write the correct numerals. ADD and to find the TOTAL. Colour.
Encourage your child to design a pattern on their whiteboard using 3 Colours and a repeat . Change the colours used each day.
