Patterns

This week we are looking at patterns.

Follow the patterns to solve each sum.

Task 1:  Patterns

Next use patterns to partition numbers.

Solve each sum sentence using partitioning.

Task 2 : Partitioning

Capacity

Introduction to capacity : I have saved a u tube video in Internet Links folder.

Practical Capacity : More or less cup containers.

You need to work at a sink.

Choose a cup and find three containers that hold more and three that hold less than your cup.

Task 3: Capacity

Capacity

Task 4 : Complete cupfuls

Mental maths

We are counting in twos.

Sing along to the 2's song in Internet Links folder.

Counting on is where you start with the larger of the two numbers and count on the smaller number.

2+7=

First circle the larger number and then count on 2.

Now make up your own sum sentences...

2+15=    2+12=    2+16=    2+18=

2+25=    2+22=    2+26=    2+28=

2+35=    2+32=    2+36=    2+38=

Can you see a pattern?
