MONDAY

P1 had so much fun compiling a SUPERHERO / CHARACTER Phone Book...

... and even more phoning them.  The craic was mighty :)

P2 Book Character Phone Book! Oh what fun we had!

P3 created their own story map of the Three Little Pigs. We then went along the trail searching for 2D shapes in each house.  The three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf were keeping a watchful eye out for visitors!

Can you spot the circles, rectangles and squares?

Keep a look out for the pentagons and hexagons!

Everyone enjoyed singing the Shape Song Swingalong song.

Early years P2 class having lots of fun making a Room on the Broom phonebook!

P4: 100 Square Swiper

THE SHAPE ART of our SCHOOL COMMUNITY

P1 getting every creative with today's Maths Week activity - 1/4 Circle Art

P1 worked hard with 0 - 4 digit cards

We had so much fun designing our paper plate quarter to make our whole school shape mosaic.

We worked with a partner and our number cards 0 - 9. We had to find the number or numbers more/less than........bigger/smaller than.......before/after or between. Great paired work P2!

P6 maths mosaics and digit card problems

Making memories during fun maths week activities

P4: Make 5 Numbers and Shape Mosaics

P5 loved the game of making 5 numbers from our number cards. We wrote our answers on our white boards to share our learning with the class. PS, check out our quarter shape art. We covered our quarters with images that we associate with numeracy eg. Shapes, numbers, times tables and even clocks!

P3 had great fun in our Out Door Learning Area using digits to create numbers!

P3  looked at some MOSAIC  ART WORK  and created our own pieces using similiar colours.

WEDNESDAY

We had great fun COUNTING our scores & totals in PE with Danny - and Cillian's uncle Tommy D was there too!

We welcomed Tommy Daly to our Maths Week Hurling activity. We were happy to show him how well Danny has taught us our skills. We counted in 1s and 10s as we scored our goals. Well done P2!

P1 had the best fun playing STAR JUMPS - 1st we had to GUESS how many jumps it would take to get round a square, circle, rectangle, rhombus & a circle. Then... we had to JUMP IT

Nursery had great fun this morning exploring 2D shapes to make some spooky Halloween posters!

Early years P2 had lots of fun exploring 2D shapes and drawing some of their own with chalk.

P4: Hurley Goals

P4: Shape Jumps

P5 explored shape using jumps today. Firstly we made the shapes in small groups and then we had great fun jumping around them. Can you work out how many jumps you would need to make around 5, 10 or even 100 heptagons? P5 know the answers!

P6 keeping score at Hurley
