OUR GRUFFALO TRAIL TRIP
On the bus... and off we go!
Good morning Liz
Story Time - Let's listen to...
THE GRUFFALO (of course)
Off to find... T H E G R U F F A L O
We had to look for GRUFFALO FOOTPRINTS
We found one with the little MOUSE
Liz gave us an ACORN
We had to go and plant it in the WOODS
We went over the GRUFFALO BRIDGE
We found a big blue rope and we had to follow it.
We spotted a RED TOATSTOOL
just like the one in the storybook.
And next we found... FOX
He was hiding on us!
Loving every minute of it...
And off we go to find the next character in the storybook. Can you guess who it will be?
And we found... OWL
and he had a challenge for us.
OWL gave us orange colour strips and we had to find leaves that were the same colours.
Liz showed us the inside of a 'fallen tree' and told us how you can count the circles to find out how old the tree is.
How cool is that!
We're going on a GRUFFALO HUNT...
We're not scared...
We can't go OVER it...
We can't go UNDER it...
We'll have to go THROUGH it.
Caitlin spotted the next 'funtivity'
And we found... SNAKE
What a fab OUTDOOR CLASSROOM
in the middle of the woods.
Eoin and Malachy found another
RED TOATSTOOL
Liz had a squeezy ROBIN
When she squeezed it the real robins sang back to it. We had to be SUPER QUIET.
Up the hill to the BIG OAK TREE
We held hands and danced aroung the tree to try to find THE GRUFFALO.
And we found... THE GRUFFALO
he was hiding in a little hole in the OAK TREE
We had to check it was definitely him.
He had TERRIBLE TEETH.
He had TERRIBLE TOES.
He had a BIG BLACK WART on the end of his nose.
He had ORANGE EYES.
He had PURPLE PRICKLES all over his back.
He had a BLACK TONGUE.
We loved throwing AUTUMN LEAVES
in the air.
We were RAVENOUS
and licked our lovely lunch into us.
And we ended the day with a fantastic play in KILBRONEY CENTRE PLAYPARK
We can't wait to go back.
