Big Summer Read 2024
The Big Summer Read is taking place over the months of July and August this year. It’s a 9 Book Challenge where each child aged between 5 and 11 years old will be challenged to read 9 books during the nine weeks of July and August.
Children who read 9 books during the summer months will automatically have the chance to have their achievement recognised with a gift. One child per council area will receive a gift. The recipients will be given 9 new children’s books to the value of £90.
There is no accompanying booklet or other materials for the 2024 challenge.
ALL children aged 5 and 11 who borrow books during the specified time are automatically entered into the challenge.
Children who borrow eBooks are included in the challenge.
