Keeping with the Staying Safe theme we also learnt how to stay safe online by identifying scenarios that might happen and matching them to solutions. Great teamwork from every table!
The Fire Department visited P5 this morning to educate us on how to stay safe in our homes and over the Halloween celebrations. We also had lots of fun trying on the protective gear that the fire people use to stay safe when they are called out.

To celebrate world Mental Health Day we took part in the Hour of Code in Minecraft’s Education. We followed the instructions to make builds on how we see our emotions. Check out some of our outstanding creations!
Lava lamps fun - we explored how a solid turned into a gas to make our lava lamps bubble.
Finally we went outside and used Miss Annie’s idea to add mentos to coke. It didn’t go exactly as planned as the mentos got a wee bit stuck but we still created an explosive reaction!
Next we looked at the irreversible reaction of bicarbonate and vinegar. Check out the foam we made with this reaction that used a solid and liquid which then created a gas!
Today we looked at mixing water and salt. We discussed how this was a reversible reaction and we are currently trying to get the salt back by putting the salt water solution on the radiator.
