Maith sibh rang a dó! Primary 2 children were presented with their certificates for participating in Gael Linn's European Languages Day activities. Comhghairdeas rang a dó!!

Primary 2 are learning to identify and label sets that are 'MORE' than, up to 14. We use 'maths talk' to suggest sentences about what we have discovered. 11 is more than 9 so 9 is less than 11.

On Monday we enjoyed playing 'Deir O Grádaigh' as part of European Languages Day. We had to listen to Mrs Rooney's instructions in Irish and only 'do it' if she said 'Deir O Grádaigh!

This week in Primary 2 we have been learning about our 5 senses. The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed exploring the world around us, through various stations in the classroom and then taking part in our listening walk. The stations inside the classroom challenged the boys and girls to become taste detectives to find out which flavour of crisps were in each bowl. Then moving onto the mystery jars, were they had to guess the contents inside using only their sense of smell. Next up, they were challenged to use their sight to visualise what animal was behind the binoculars. And finally we used our sense of touch to guess what objects were hidden in our tuff tray before heading out on our listening walk. Primary 2 you are great detectives, keep up the good work!

We are learning to stretch the sounds we hear to build words.

This week in Primary 2 we were learning all about length. Look how amazing all the boys and girls were at sequencing objects from longest to shortest! Well done Primary 2!

In Primary 2 we were using counters to make different colourful patterns today!
