Well done to Daire King for applying different strategies to solve addition and subtraction word problems. Keep up the great work in numeracy and to Cora Fitzpatrick for a great effort when completing work on first, second and third person.
Mr Kelly's Star of the Week
Katie Phillips received Star of the Week this week or her excellent attitude towards her learning and completing fantastic literacy work on sentence writing.
Jayden Heslip also received star of the week this week for being a super reading detective and finding clues from the text to help infer what is happening in the story.
World Book Day
We dressed up as our favourite characters from books that we have read, as part of World book day! We had lots of very creative costumes and enjoyed drawing ourselves in our costumes as part of our literacy week activities.
We also took part in a hot seating activity where we took on the role of our character to express emotions and opinions of our character as well as answering questions from our peers.
No Pens Wednesday
Today, we took part in no pens Wednesday as part of our literacy week tasks. We took part in an activity called morning dash which entailed us reading a question or statement and coming up with an answer for this. We also took part in a Feely Bag activity where we had to use lots of vocabulary to describe the object inside the bag! In our numeracy activity, one child was given a number and had to provide the rest of the class with relevant vocabulary to try to guess the number.

Making Inferences
Today, as part of literacy week, we have been learning all about Making Inferences. We looked at different pictures and made inferences about what we thought was happening in each. We then watched a video about a frog called Tiddalik. made individual inferences about the frog as well as providing evidence to our answers. We discussed what type of a frog Tiddalik was, how he behaved and what others might have thought about him.
