ICT
Today we had our first visit to the ICT suite. We all logged on independently using our personal username and password and also accepted ou invite to the 'Primary 4' google classroom page. to do thism we needed to listen carefully and follow a set of instructions, including entering our class code to alllow us permission into the class page. Once we were all into the class page, a link was posted for everyone under the 'classwork' section which he children all then had a go at playing. This gamne was on counting in 2's as this is what we were focusing on in our mental maths lesson today. Now all of the boys and girls are pat of the P4 class on google classoom and if any future work or homework is assigned here, we will all know how to navigate our way through it. We are so excited to get back to he ICT suite to learn some more!
STAR OF THE WEEK
This week we had two stars in our class; Kyra and Jayden! Both Kyra and Jayden got star of the week for heir excellent work on coumn addition with regrouping! Well done to the two of them!
Check out Coras's wonderful Weather pictures that she made at home and very kindly brought into school to show everybody. Our topic this term is weather so we loved to see these being brought in from home. We have kept them and they are now proudly displayed in our classroom!
Religion
In our Gow in Love lessons this week, we have been looking at being followers of Jesus. We found out that Jesus chose all of his twelves apostles to be his followers. We played a game called 'Follow the Leader' where one leader was chosen and the rest vof the class had o follow their instruction. We discussed how it felt to be both leaders and followers and found out some more informtion on how to be a good leader and a good follower,
STAR OF THE WEEK - This week, the star in our Class was Brody. Brody has tried his very best in all of his classwork and has completed some fantastic literacy work on character profiles! Well done, Brody!
Roald Dahl Day
This week, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day in school by listening to stories about Roald Dahls live and watching some short clips. We also listened to parts of his book and discussed our favourtie Roald Dahl books and movies.
We then made book covers for our favourtie books which we have proudlt displayed on our library board in our classroom.
Class Bonding During PE
Today in PE we have been taking part in lots of class bonding and team building acivities. We worked in teams to complete an obstacle course and spoke baout the imporance of communicating and listening to team members, in order to be successful. We had lots of fun doing this and we look forward o more of our team building exercises on Friday! check out the photos to see our cool obstacle course.
Numeracy
This week in school, we have been working so hard in our numeracy lessons. We have been exploring numbers up to 500 and have taken part in lots of games and quizzes using the interactive whiboard. We have also been learning some new rhymes to help us remember counting in 2’s and 5’s.
This week we have also been leaning all about symmetry. We were each given a mirror and a range of shapes to look for different lines of symmetry. We also looked around the classoom for other shapes and designs that had lines of symmetry and checked hthis with our mirrors. We had lots of fun doing this!
Our First Week in Primary 4
This week saw the return of all the boys and girls into their new primary 4 class. What a wonderful week we have had! We have carried out lots of activities on 'All About Me' and took part in lots of games and tasks to help us get to know our classroom, peers and staff within the room. The boys and girls all shared with the class what they would like to do or be when they are older and from this we made our display 'Future World Changers'. We are so excited for the year ahead.
