Making BLACKBERRY JAM with Georgina.
This is the recipe - the book is very O L D.
This is Georgina - the best BLACKBERRY JAM MAKER in Mourne!!
Hugh helped Georgina bring everything she needed to make the Blackberry Jam.
Aodhan started by putting in all the blackberries - 3LB of them!!
Corey, Odhrán, Jack, Ollie and Pearse Óg 'smashed' the blackberries with a 'blackberry smasher thingy.'
Georgina measured out 3LB of sugar using weighing scales.
Katie (Georgina's great niece) poured all the sugar into the blackberries.
Then it was time to STIR all the SUGAR into the BLACKBERRIES.
Next it was time to put the mixture onto the HEAT.
Then we had to watch the jam mixture come to a ROLLING BOIL.
It bubbled like a VOLCANO and looked like a CAPPUCINO
Georgina added 'CERTO' - this makes the jam S E T
Next she added something very unusual - BUTTER (who knew???)
Pearse Óg wanted to 'lick the spoon' - it was D E L I C I O U S.
Then it was time to pour the jam into the JAM POTS.
TA - DA... yummy BLACKBERRY JAM.
Everybody say... "BLACKBERRY JAM CHEESE PLEASE"
Katie was so happy with Georgina's yummy jam.
Thank you very much Georgina - we loved it!!!
When you make Blackberry Jam - you just have to eat it!!!
All done... and we all get one to bring home!!
