School Council

A huge well done to everyone who prepared and presented presentations for School Council. Some great ideas shared and well delivered. Thank you to all the parents for your help at home to prepare the children. 
 

AmmA Creative Learning

 

Today we had a visit from author Declan Carville.
Declan shared his books, creative process, how he gets his ideas from things he is already familiar with and what he has already experienced. How he chose an illustrator and the children shared their reviews of the lovely story of Nelly Fandango.
Declan discussed characters, their thoughts and feelings and how he brings himself in to his writing. Declan shared the design process of his book, the font, the size of the pictures and putting it all together. 

 

He gave us his top 10 story writing tips and P5 could not wait to start sharing their ideas and developing their own writing. 
 

An excellent workshop that the children described as inspiring, awesome and lots of fun!
