Literacy

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our new HOME LEARNING activities for this week.

This week our new sound / letter is K

Please 'click' on the links for:

* Mr Thorne - episode K

* Let's get Squiggling - K

* Letter K songs. & stories

Letter K is a TALL letter that sits on the line.  It is a SHORT sound when you say it and sounds just like c  .

Letter 'K' starts at the at the top, slide to the bottom and stop.  Lift your pencil and put it in the middle, draw diagonally up to the right and stop.  Place pencil back in the middle, draw diagonally to the bottom left with a teeny, tiny flick.

FUN PHONIC DAILY ACTIVITIES

Use your whiteboard to practise writing the letter K on your whiteboard - don't forget to start at the side!!!

Use your finger to write the letter K on your mummy's back.

Use your finger to write the letter K in the air.

Look for things that have the K sound around your house - can you make a set of 'K' things?

If possible, make K with playdoh, long laces, string, counters - whatever you have!!!
