Literacy

Oi Get Off Our Train is a picture book. The pictures are exciting, full of colours, techniques and details which make you want to go on looking at them. There aren't many words in this book - but that doesn't mean there isn't much of a story. The book makes you think about how stories work.

Monday Activity 1 : Predicting - Look at the front cover of the book. Think about the title of the book. Whose train is it? What sort of train is it?  Where is it going? Who is on the train?

Tuesday Activity 2 : Click on the u tube link and read the story. Look at the fourth page of the book, just before the story begins. You will see these words: For Chico Mendes who tried so hard to protect the rainforest of Brazil. This is called the dedication.
