Vikings at Navan Fort

Digital Leaders

The children used their ICT skills to complete their Digital Leader application forms and there were lots of good ideas shared of how to develop ICT within out school.

I look forward to seeing our newly elected Digital Leaders supporting others and sharing their knowledge.
Well done Callen and Cassie!

Function Machines

P5 have been working hard to use their knowledge to problem solve using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Today we challenged each other by creating 2-step function machines and testing on our friends and applying these skills.

Literacy Week

A busy week with lots of fun!

In class we focused on Traditional Fairy Tales and writing an alternative ending to Little Red Riding Hood. The children are preparing play scripts and acting out their alternative endings to this traditional tale.

We visited Primary One and read to them. Everyone throughly enjoyed working with the younger children and read with great enthusiasm.

We took part in an online art lesson based on the story ‘The Secret Garden’. The children sketched their scene before using oil pastels and water colour to bring their creations to life. We now have beautiful pieces to display in class.

A mystery reader visited our class and we all enjoyed listening to Mrs Quinn read to us.

Of course we cannot forget World Book Day and the excellent costumes on display. The children shared their favourite books and discussed their characters. We also had children read out their own stories, alternative endings to their favourite stories or stories they wrote themselves.
