Numeracy facts

Week beginning 30th November.

Add/subtract a multiple of 10/100 to form a multiple of 1000.

For example 9300-300, 3400+600, 7060-60, 2550+450.

Week beginning 23rd November

Subtract two 2 digit multiples of ten.

For example 90-50.

Week beginning 16th November

Mentally add two 2 digit multiples of 10, bridging through the 100.

Week beginning 9th November:

Mentally add a 2 digit multiple of 10 to a 3 digit multiple of 10, without bridging the hundred e.g. 420+40.

Week beginning 2nd November.

Mentally subtract two 2 digit numbers.

For example: 60-20 = 40 progressing to 97 - 34 = 63.

Continue to tell the time.

Week beginning 12th October.

Mentally add two 2 digit numbers (answers within 100).

For example = 45 + 36

55 + 47

Week beginning 5th October:

Doubles and halves to 50.

9 times tables.

Continue to tell the time and look around for shapes in everyday life.

Week beginning: 28th September.

Find half of any number to 50.

Practise your 6 times tables.  If you know them, work on dividing by 6.

Look around your house for different shapes.  You might see 3d containers or flat 2d designs.  What are the names of the different shapes?  How many sides do they have?  Can you see any right angles?

Keep counting in fives to help you count in 5 minute intervals.  Check the time- can you tell what time it is? or how many minutes to the next hour?

Week beginning: 21st September.

Know and use doubles to 50.

For example: 22+22=44

23+23= 46 and so on to 50 + 50= 100.

Know and use near doubles to 50.

For example: 22+23=45

23+24= 47 and so on to 49 + 50= 99.

Use your knowledge of multiplying by 3 to help you divide by 3.

Continue working on telling the time to 5 minute intervals.  Count around an analogue clock in 5s until you get to 60.

Week beginning: 14th September.

Use small numbers to help you add large numbers.

Practise sums like 7 + 4 = 11

This helps you with 70 + 40 = 110

Try 3 + 6 + 8 = 17

It helps you with 30 + 60 + 80 = 170

Keep working on your times tables.  This week, we are focusing on multiplying by 3.

Use your Active Learn games to practise telling the time.  Try it out at home too.  Check what time your favourite T.V show is on at, what time dinner will be ready and when the bus is coming.
